Program Overview

The launch of the Targeted Research Program reflects the vision of the King Salman Center for Disability Research to drive meaningful and sustainable change in the lives of persons with disabilities by investing in scientific knowledge that leads to innovation and impact.

As part of its commitment to supporting and enabling applied scientific research that contributes to improving the quality of life for persons with disabilities, the Center is pleased to announce the inauguration of the Targeted Research Program. This program represents one of the Center’s strategic pillars to advance knowledge, develop evidence-based solutions, and direct research efforts toward national priorities in the field of disability.
 

Program Objectives

  • Support and fund priority research that addresses the actual challenges faced by persons with disabilities in the Kingdom.
  • Foster integration between researchers, policymakers, and service providers to ensure research alignment with real-world needs.
  • Build an effective national network of researchers specializing in various disability fields.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and programs based on reliable scientific outcomes.

Application and Funding Mechanism:

Applications are submitted through the dedicated online portal of the Targeted Research Program, where each proposal undergoes a rigorous scientific review by specialized evaluation committees. The funding mechanism includes:

  • Providing financial grants for selected proposals.
  • Offering the necessary logistical and scientific resources.
  • Facilitating access to databases and clinical samples (where available).
  • Conducting periodic follow-up and interim evaluations to ensure the quality of outcomes.
