
His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of King Salman Center for Disability Research, chaired the fifth meeting of the Board of Trustees for the sixth session, with the honorable members attending both in person and virtually.
Prince Sultan opened the meeting by welcoming the members, advisors, and stakeholders. The agenda included several key topics, most notably the Board’s approval of the financial statements and final accounts for 2024, as well as the 2025 proposed budgets for King Salman Center for Disability Research and Radisson Blu Hospitality. The Board also endorsed the 2024 Annual Report and the Center’s 2026 Operational Plan.
In addition, the members reviewed a presentation highlighting the Center’s major initiatives and achievements, research group outputs, and training programs for the first quarter of 2025.
The report of the Center’s scientific journal was also presented, showing a significant rise in global citations, with 150,864 visitors from 178 countries recorded in the first quarter of this year.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Prince Sultan commended the active role of the Board members and Center officials in supporting institutional progress. He stressed the importance of collective efforts to achieve strategic goals, enhance developmental impact, and advance the Center’s mission, while continuing to embrace innovative initiatives and research projects under the theme “Boldly Toward the Future” to create tangible impact in the lives of individuals and society.
Following the meeting, Prince Sultan inaugurated the Center’s documentary exhibition and toured its sections, where he reviewed the most prominent supported scientific research innovations, pioneering initiatives since the Center’s establishment, research projects, and community programs that have contributed to shaping national policies to improve services provided to persons with disabilities.
It is worth noting that the documentary exhibition reflects the journey and pioneering achievements of King Salman Center for Disability Research in supporting scientific research aimed at improving the quality of life for persons with disabilities.
