ShareThe Acceleration Phase of the Artificial Intelligence Hackathon for Persons with Disabilities has officially commenced. The hackathon is organized by the King Salman Center for Disability Research as part of the Seventh International Conference on Disability and Rehabilitation, held under the generous patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him. A total of 159 qualified teams are participating in this phase, accompanied by 20 specialized experts over a period of seven weeks to develop their ideas and transform them into innovative prototypes that contribute to serving persons with disabilities, in preparation for the final event scheduled to take place next October.
Innovation Development Journey
The Acceleration Phase represents a key milestone in the hackathon journey, during which the qualified teams develop and refine their ideas, transforming them into practical prototypes through an intensive mentoring and guidance program. This phase aims to strengthen the use of artificial intelligence technologies in developing high-quality solutions that address the needs of persons with disabilities and contribute to improving their quality of life.
Specialized Mentorship
Throughout the Acceleration Phase, specialized experts accompany the qualified teams, providing support and guidance across various technical and innovation-related aspects. Their mentorship contributes to enhancing the readiness of the projects, improving the quality of their outcomes, and enabling the teams to deliver prototypes with added value and sustainable impact.
Preparing for the Final Event
The Acceleration Phase will conclude with the hackathon’s final event next October, where the participating teams will present their projects before the judging panels in preparation for selecting the best innovative artificial intelligence solutions designed to serve persons with disabilities.
