In a step that reflects a shared commitment to promoting inclusion and enhancing quality of life, King Salman Center for Disability Research strengthened its strategic partnership with Saudi Aramco through the company’s sponsorship of the 7th International Conference on Disability and Rehabilitation, held from October 11 to 13, 2026.
This participation builds on Saudi Aramco’s sponsorship of the sixth edition of the conference and reflects the shared vision of both parties to launch innovative initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities and their families. It also supports the conference’s mission to drive a transformative advancement in disability and rehabilitation research, contributing to the empowerment of persons with disabilities and strengthening the Kingdom’s global standing in this vital field.
The sponsorship took on a new dimension through the Moeen Program, which aims to enhance the capabilities of professionals working in day-care and comprehensive rehabilitation centers across all regions of the Kingdom. The program aligns training with actual workplace needs and measures its impact, ultimately contributing to the delivery of services that better understand and address the needs of persons with disabilities and their families.
The partnership has a strong track record of success, beginning with the establishment of sensory rooms, inaugurated at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh in 2021 and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam in 2025. This collaboration also extends to the Hemam Initiative in the Makkah Region, which aims to develop disability-friendly environments. Saudi Aramco serves as a strategic partner in this initiative, while the Center contributes its expertise in applying universal accessibility standards to assess participating environments.
Saudi Aramco’s participation in the conference represents a commitment that goes beyond traditional sponsorship to investing in people and improving the quality of services provided. Through this strong partnership, the Center and Saudi Aramco continue to maximize the impact of their joint programs and expand their efforts to empower persons with disabilities and their families.
