His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Prince Salman Center for Disability Research, attended the signing ceremony of the management and operation contract for the “Radisson Blu Serviced Apartments Project,” located in the Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh, with the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the world’s leading hotel groups. The group will manage this large hospitality complex, which consists of 110 serviced apartments, a fitness center, and meeting rooms equipped with the latest technologies. The project will offer hotel services at the highest standards, along with many additional features that guests of Radisson Blu Riyadh will enjoy. The property is expected to open its doors to guests in the second quarter of 2015.
The Radisson Blu Riyadh will be built on an area of 7,233 square meters within the Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh, at a cost of SAR 60 million. On this occasion, the CEO, Mr. Kurt Ritter, expressed his great pleasure at finalizing the management and operation agreement for the Radisson Blu Riyadh, awarded to the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, as part of its strategy to strengthen its presence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, one of the most important markets in the Middle East.
This project represents the first endowment initiative of the Prince Salman Center for Disability Research, with its investment returns allocated as a source of funding to support disability research in the Kingdom. The Center adopts endowment-based projects aimed at securing sustainable self-funding for disability research carried out within Saudi Arabia.
The Prince Salman Center for Disability Research receives care, attention, and support from the government under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz—may God preserve him—as well as from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense, Founder and President of the Center—may God preserve him. It is also supported by a number of businessmen, national companies, banks, and charitable organizations as founding members who believe in the Center’s vision and mission, which carry a scientific and social responsibility toward disability issues in the Kingdom. Various government sectors also cooperate with the Center in the practical and scientific application of its research outcomes to facilitate the lives of people with disabilities, enhance the services provided to them, and prevent causes of disability resulting from certain genetic and metabolic diseases, as well as through preventive programs that help individuals with disabilities integrate more easily into society and lead a dignified life.
