In the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Salman Center for Disability Research, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mawakabah Investment Company, the Center and Mawakabah Investment Company signed an agreement to manage, develop, and invest in the Center’s new headquarters project. The agreement supports the Center’s strategic direction, “Audacity Toward the Future,” while strengthening its research capabilities and institutional and financial sustainability.
A Partnership to Develop the Center’s Assets and Strengthen Its Sustainability
The agreement aims to leverage Mawakabah Investment Company’s expertise in asset management and investment project development to ensure the efficient utilization of the project’s components, grow the Center’s resources, and support its financial sustainability.
Mawakabah Investment Company is the investment arm of the Association for Children with Disability and operates in the fields of asset investment and development, as well as the management of investment projects within the nonprofit sector.
A Project with More Than 22,000 Square Meters of Built-Up Area
The new headquarters project is being developed on a plot of land in Al-Raed District in Riyadh, generously granted to the Center by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may Allah protect him. The site covers approximately 6,000 square meters, with a total built-up area of approximately 22,400 square meters.
The new headquarters comprises two main buildings, one comprising five floors and the other six floors. It will include office spaces, specialized laboratories, and parking facilities with a capacity of 300 vehicles.
An Integrated Environment for Research and Innovation
The project will provide an integrated environment for scientific research, innovation, and the development of the Center’s activities, in addition to investment spaces that will contribute to growing its resources and strengthening its financial sustainability.
The project’s design also incorporates measures to reduce energy consumption and apply environmental sustainability principles, enhancing its efficiency while ensuring that its architectural character complements the urban identity of Riyadh.
Integrated Management from Development to Operation and Investment
The agreement covers the management of the project’s various phases, beginning with preparation, implementation, coordination, supervision, and handover, and extending to the preparation, operation, marketing, leasing, and asset management of the investment spaces.
This integrated approach aims to maximize the utilization of the project’s components and support the development of a sustainable model for managing the Center’s assets and resources.
