As part of the scientific and organizational preparations for the 7th International Conference on Disability and Rehabilitation, the conference's preparatory committee held its first meeting with the participation of its members.
The meeting began with a welcome to the committee members and an update on the issuance of the royal order to sponsor the conference. The committee then reviewed its tasks and role in coordinating the scientific and organizational aspects of the event. The responsibilities of the subcommittees (the Scientific Committee, the Recommendations Committee, the Media Committee, the Relations and Exhibition Committee) were discussed in preparation for finalizing their responsibilities and establishing an integrated mechanism for their collaboration.
The meeting also included a discussion on the general framework for the conference’s timeline, along with updates on the preparation steps, which include enhancing the quality of the scientific content, developing mechanisms for research participation, and ensuring the readiness of organizational and logistical aspects to reflect the significance of the conference and its scientific role.
This meeting marks the first step in a continuous preparatory process, with subsequent committee meetings aimed at developing a comprehensive action plan based on best international practices in the field of disability and rehabilitation. The plan aims to ensure the conference's prominent position both locally and internationally, supporting scientific research and the exchange of expertise, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities and empowering them.
